As to a company, a contract specialist should be responsible for:
(1) soliciting and acquiring contracts for the company;
(2) negotiating and closing deals;
(3) verifying the credentials of any company with which a contract is made;
(4) drawing up a contract;
(5) interpreting the terms of a contract;
(6) ensuring the terms of a contract comply with the company's policies, as well as local laws and regulations;
(7) making amendments to the language or terms of a contract in the best interest of your company;
(8) informing all involved parties of the change, if any, of the terms of a contract;
(9) evaluating a contract's performance;
(10) mediating with the contractor to resolve any complaint or claim in case of the breach of a contract; and
(11) dealing with any other miscellaneous matters related to a contract in which the company is involved.
